Brotherly vs. Fatherly Love
Excerpt from, Son of Man: Urantia, Chapter 19, pt. 2, The Twelve Apostles
Fatherly and Brotherly Love: From the Sermon on the Mount to the Discourse of the Last Supper, Jesus taught his followers to act with fatherly love rather than brotherly love. There is a huge difference between the two. Acting with brotherly love means to love your neighbor as you love yourself. And that is enough for us to live up to the so-called Golden Rule. But fatherly love is another step higher. It means taking ourselves out of the equation and loving people the same as Jesus loves us.
