Challenging Religious Hypocrisy: Tradition vs. Commandments

Why is it that you use the laws of your tradition to disobey the commandments of God? The commandment says, Honor your father and your mother, and directs that you share with them your food if necessary. But you enact a law of tradition that permits undutiful children to say that the money that might have helped their parents has been given to God. The law of the elders thus relieves these crafty children of their responsibility, even though the children later use all of that money for their own comfort.
